Several people woke up Friday morning to find their car windows broken out. As of Monday, the police were still looking for who did it, Juneau Police Department Lt. Krag Campbell said.
Police fielded a variety of calls Friday about broken car windows and found that between the area of the ferry terminal and out to Cohen Drive, 12 vehicles had been vandalized, according to a JPD release. A light green 2008 Ford Escape was reported stolen from the area of Cohen Drive, too. The car was later found, Campbell said.
Police estimate the damages at about $6,000, but property crime was minimal. A tool kit, a vehicle manual and registration are the only items that were reported stolen, the release alleges.
JPD is investigating the reports, and anyone with information is asked to call JPD at 586-0600. Anonymous tips are also welcome, and can be submitted at juneaucrimeline.com.
