The Juneau Crime Line is highlighting an unsolved property theft case from mid-June when a pistol was stolen from a man’s unlocked car.
According to a Monday release about the “Crime of the Week” from the Juneau Crime Line and Juneau Police Department, a 30-year-old Juneau man reported the theft at about 4:40 p.m. June 19. The caller said he had left his black Taurus 9 mm pistol in his car in the 3000 block of Glacierwood Drive.
The man told police that the gun must have been taken sometime between 4 p.m. the previous day and when he called, according to the release. Police encourage people to secure their guns at all times, whether the gun is at home, in the car or in a travel case.
