There are three open seats on the Juneau Economic Development Council’s Board of Directors, and the deadline to apply for a spot has been extended, but there still isn’t much time.
The deadline was expanded to Monday, Oct. 29, according to an information release from the City and Borough of Juneau. Friday was the original deadline. Applications can be found at https://beta.juneau.org/clerk/boards-committees.
Upon receiving applications, current JEDC board members recommend applicants to the CBJ Assembly. The Assembly members then appoint new members based on the applicants’ experience and expertise in areas relating to economic development and Juneau’s economy.
There will be interviews with the current board members on Monday, Nov. 5 between 3:30-5 p.m.
Applicants should attach a letter of interest to their application that describes their qualifications and interest in serving on the board. If an applicant is interested in the nonprofit environmental organization seat, they should mention that in their letter. JEDC board members serve a three-year term.
Any questions should be directed to JEDC Executive Director Brian Holst at bholst@jedc.org or 523-2333. JEDC’s missions are to make Juneau a great capital city, strengthen regional industries, promote entrepreneurship, develop talent and deliver core economic development services.
