The Thunder Mountain High School boys lost to Colony for the second time in a week on Friday night at TMHS.
After facing the Knights at the Mt. McKinley Bank Holiday Classic in Fairbanks, the Falcons hosted the Southcentral team for their home opener.
TMHS junior Brady Carandang scored eight points and junior Bryson Echiverri had seven points in a 46-27 loss.
For Colony, senior Sullivan Menard scored 12 points and super sophomores Patrick McMahon and Jeremiah Hersrud each had 10 points.
The Falcons put together a positive first half — making three 3-pointers and boxing out their significantly taller opponent — to head into the locker room down 27-17. The second half was a different story though, as Thunder Mountain scored just 10 points after halftime. Four Thunder Mountain players made four separate field goals to go along with two free throws.
There were very few baskets to go around for the Knights as well, who added nine points in the third quarter and 10 in the fourth. The two sides squared off again on Saturday night at the Thunderdome.
Colony defeated Juneau-Douglas High School 66-40 on Thursday night and the Knights are 10-1 on the season. TMHS is 6-5.
