Police calls for Friday, July 6, 2018

Assault

• At 10:01 p.m. Tuesday, the Juneau Police Department responded to Egan Drive to investigate the report of a cold assault. Investigation continues. The term “cold assault,” JPD Public Safety Manager Erann Kalwara said, is used when there is a delay in reporting the assault and the activity is not currently in progress.

Burglary

• At 1:55 p.m. Tuesday, JPD responded to the 9300 block of La Perouse Avenue to investigate the report that several vehicles in the JPD impound lot were broken into. JPD increased its patrol in the area.

• At 3:15 a.m. Wednesday, JPD arrested Pavel Bogatko, 28, in the 200 block of Front Street for disorderly conduct. Alcohol was a factor.

Drunken driving

• At 9:19 p.m. Tuesday, JPD arrested Jaime Sanchez Jr., 25, on Sundown Drive for driving under the influence. His breath-alcohol content was measured at 0.153 percent. Sanchez was taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center and his car was impounded.

• At 2:58 a.m. Wednesday, JPD arrested Gregory Alan Pegues, 56, in the 1300 block of Egan Drive for driving under the influence. His breath-alcohol content was measured at 0.193 percent. He was taken to LCCC and his vehicle was impounded.

Shoplifting

• At 6:29 p.m. Tuesday, JPD responded to the 600 block of Willoughby Avenue to investigate the report of shoplifting at Kenny’s Liquor. Investigation continues.

• At 10:07 p.m. Tuesday, JPD arrested Frank White, 56, in the 100 block of Franklin Street for concealment of merchandise. Alcohol was a factor.

Theft

• At 4:18 p.m. Tuesday, JPD responded to the 2200 block of Muir Street to investigate the report of a man, 35, who reported the theft of a car stereo and hand tools from his unlocked vehicle.

• At 4:22 p.m. Tuesday, JPD responded to the 9100 block of Cinema Drive to investigate the report of a theft. Investigation continues.

• At 6:54 p.m. Tuesday, JPD responded to the 8100 block of Easy Street to investigate the report of a man, 43, who reported the theft of three rifles, ammunition and medication from his home. Investigation continues.

• At 9:46 p.m. Tuesday, JPD responded to the 100 block of Franklin Street to investigate the report of a theft from a business. Investigation continues.

Trespassing

• At 3:24 p.m. Tuesday, JPD cited and released Matthew Gilchrest, 34, and Natalia Sanders, 35, in the 700 block of Franklin Street for trespassing.

Vandalism

• At 2:54 a.m. Wednesday, JPD responded to the 100 block of Franklin Street to investigate the report of vandalism. Investigation continues.
