Alaska is a Republican state as election results show. Lyndon B. Johnson the only Democrat to carry Alaska in a presidential election . Alaska has a Republican congressional delegation since l98l except for one term Sen. Begich. Congressman Don You ng the longest serving Republican in House of Representatives. The Alaska Democrats have done a lousy job of attracting independent voters. Last November the voters knew exactly where Clinton and Trump stood on issues. President Trump to his credit is trying to live up to his campaign promises. including repealing Obamacare. Our legislature gave solid support to opening up ANWR. Not so for the national Democratic Party.
National Republican Party respects us as a state. The Democrats treat us like a nature park. President Trump is a godsend for developing our natural resources. The environmentalists are out of power. Juneau and the rest of S.E. Alaska is a Democrat bubble out of touch with Republican interior Alaska. Democrats should not give up as its only about 200 weeks to 2020 presidential election. The voters have shown they are happy with Republicans in power in Alaska and our nation.
