I have spent a lot of time now in this great state but I am amazed at the lack of compassion for some for our most vulnerable. The reasons are many but why in such a state with our resources do we allow the homeless and the mentally ill to suffer so much?
We are great people. We are independent. We are all one people no matter how you look at it and it is time to come together to solve this problem. The time has come to invest in services that work, or should I say a hand up not a handout.
We look to our state leaders to solve these problems but we are mired in political differences which are harming us. The state of the economy will grow with equal opportunity for everyone. In future editorials, I will lay out my plan on how we might accomplish this. At this point, I have dropped from the Democratic ticket for Congress. I have re-registered as an independent and am a write-in candidate in the general election for Congress. Also in the future, I will lay out a platform to make a better Alaska for all its time that everyone has a chance to accomplish their dream.
I love this state. This is my home that is why I am running for Congress to make it great and prosperous for everyone.
