Congress is selling your internet privacy

Have you ever done an internet search you wouldn’t want everyone to know about? Maybe your child, friend or babysitter used your computer and left some search tracks that, to your surprise, you’re going to have to explain the next time you run for office or apply for a job.

Congress’ vote to let internet companies sell your personal information without your permission was a party line vote. Thanks to Citizens United, the companies that benefit will repay the Republican Party with millions in campaign funds.

Alaska’s U.S. Sens. Lisa Murkowski and Dan Sullivan and U.S. Rep. Don Young have 750,000 constituents. I would be willing to bet that they cannot identify a single constituent who does not find their support for this measure highly offensive. I guess when the chips are down, we know where their priorities lie.
