Letter: In favor of Becker, Weldon and Gregory

As a 56-year resident of Alaska with 90 percent of that time living in Juneau, I feel it’s as important to vote as it ever has been. A sure vote must be made for Mary Becker and Beth Weldon for all they have done and continue to do for Juneau. It is also extremely important to cast your vote for Norton Gregory over Kate Troll because:

• Both say they are for Juneau, but when it came time to support area mining and Juneau’s economy, Norton did support mining and the economy while Kate did contract work for groups trying to stop the permitting to open the mine.

• Juneau needs housing. While Kate says she will work toward such, Norton actually works in that field doing something toward better housing for Juneau.

• While Kate says she supports our transportation needs, she means air and ferry. Norton supports all transportation to and from our capital, which includes Juneau Access which also supports all of Southeast by freeing ferries to support other communities.

• Finally, while Kate does work for Juneau’s “special interest groups,” Norton brings a fresh young mind to our Assembly that will work for all of Juneau, not just several special interest groups.

Please vote in our upcoming election and vote for Mary Becker, Beth Weldon and Norton Gregory.

Malcolm Menzies,

Juneau
