Letter: Justin Parish for state House

I am writing this letter in support of Justin Parish. In the recent weeks there have been many reasons brought to light to vote against his opponent. However, I am more concerned about the positive reasons to vote for Parish in the upcoming election.

Upon meeting Parish for the first time, it was quickly obvious that he is a sincere young man, highly intelligent and pursuing political office for the right reasons. He cares about Juneau, Southeast and Alaska as a whole. He wants to ensure your children have a future in Alaska. He is not interested in getting in the pockets of the big oil companies. This last point is important because Alaska needs to move away from being as dependent on oil. Many economic plans are seeking to reduce the dependency from nigh 100 percent to 20 percent. It is to our benefit to elect Parish to ensure that Big Oil is not put above our family, friends and neighbors.

Justin Parish is an educator, and many mornings I have seen him giving his time before and after school helping the children cross Mendenhall Loop. He is a man of the people. He is guiding the young minds of tomorrow, and his pursuits are selfless.

Please don’t just take my word for all of this. If you contact Justin Parish, he is very easy to talk to and surely will make time to converse with you. You will come to the same conclusion that I have. Remember to tell your friends and family to vote for Justin Parish for state House, and share his posts on Facebook.

I think it is important that Alaskans embrace change because our past practices have failed us. Remember that despite what we must do to become whole again, it was our past leadership that has us where we are today. They are to blame for our dividends being reduced, not those reducing it to make sure we have a bright future tomorrow.
