My choice for our next mayor is Ken Koelsch. Ken is somebody from my perspective who will move our community forward in the right direction. His vision for a positive future makes him the absolute ideal candidate. Juneau needs to grow and to become less dependent on state government to drive our economy. I served on the Planning Commission for the last nine years and have seen the challenges homeowners and business owners large and small have to struggle with to move their projects from a dream to a reality; this needs to change.
As somebody who has worked for decades in education, Ken is used to hard work and long hours. He is sensitive to all the communities needs, not just the special interests groups. Ken has experience with diverse groups of people which will stand him in good stead in the mayor’s chair.
Ken will bring our community together. Lately it seems the Assembly is working at odds with each other much like the division some of us see in Juneau as a whole. Ken will bring his skills to the mayor’s office to help our Assembly unite to work together for better community and brighter future for all of us.
Electing Ken Koelsch as mayor on March 15 is a positive vote for Juneau’s future.
