Letter: My candidacy is based on love, not contributions

Brothers and sisters, global warming is real. Our lives and the lives of today’s children and their children are in danger. The oceans are dying. Thousands, if not millions, of people will die because of global warming if we do nothing to stop it.

The good news is that we can do something to stop global warming. Every little bit helps: recycling, eating local and organic, driving less, riding a bicycle, it all adds up. Most importantly, each of us can help by loving each other despite our differences. Love is the answer and the solution to global warming.

Although no human being is perfect, especially me, if we forgive each other our transgressions we can make Mother Earth a better place to live by helping the poor, ending homelessness and stopping global warming. Each of us can make a contribution to the love effort.

On Jan. 8, to support this love effort, I filed to run for the U.S. Senate as an Independent Green Socialist. To love is to be social, or as I like to think, Socialist. We love, or share, Mother Earth, the air we breathe and the water we drink.

I am required to submit 2,854 signatures of Alaskan voters before I am an actual candidate. I will not accept any campaign contributions. In lieu of a contribution, show loving kindness and help a stranger.
