Some legislators are saying no to income taxes. Some are saying don’t touch the Permanent Fund Dividend checks. Some are saying Alska should use its savings first.
So, the buck will be passed to the municipalities who will have to increase property taxes or look at sales taxes to make up the loss of revenue sharing. And what about seasonal workers who come to Alaska to work but who don’t contribute to state services, and then leave the state with their money? For them, it’s a free ride.
