The 15th amendment of the Constitution provides citizens the right to vote. This year, I will be supporting the re-election of Cathy Muñoz to the Alaska State House. I have known and worked side-by-side with Cathy for over 30 years. Throughout the years, Cathy has worked diligently to better the lives of Alaskans including those of us right here in Juneau.
Cathy has provided support for all ages and walks of life.
I remember fondly 20 years ago when Cathy, as a member of the Salvation Army Board, was instrumental in securing funding for the new thrift store here in Juneau.
Cathy also stood with the university and the Alaska Miners Association to establish the Miner Training Program. The program provides new skills to men and women of Southeast Alaska helping them obtain high paying mining jobs, and keeping our young people from leaving Juneau.
Cathy’s work continues today as she works diligently for our young people, supporting the K-12 budget and insurance for dependents of state employees killed in the line of duty.
I believe in Cathy and know her work for the betterment of Juneau and Alaska residents must continue. I am more than confident in my selection for the Alaska State House. On Nov. 8, I hope you will stand with me in supporting Cathy Muñoz.
Jerry Harmon,
Juneau
