It is my pleasure to express my support for Greg Fisk, candidate for Mayor of the City and Borough of Juneau. I met Greg in the 1980s when he was working for the Alaska Trollers Association, advocating for commercial fishermen and helping them navigate state and federal regulations.
Over the years Greg demonstrated his commitment to fishing, the seafood industry and the maritime economy that is so much a part of life in Southeast Alaska. A recent example was his successful leadership in development of the commercial seafood dock in Auke Bay. Greg was also instrumental in organizing the community response when Alaskan & Proud pulled out of downtown Juneau. I consider his leadership a major reason that IGA came to Juneau with a commitment to high-quality retail food and hardware service.
Fisk served several terms on the Juneau Economic Development Council, rolling up his sleeves and working on economic issues here in Juneau and throughout Southeast. I am confident that Greg understands Juneau, from downtown to the valley, and as mayor will continue to bring people together for smart economic development while maintaining our quality of life and sustaining our renewable resources. Please join me in voting for Greg Fisk on Tuesday, Oct. 6.
