I support the motivation behind the initiative to register more voters but I did not sign the petition. It is not that difficult to register now. The problem is not registering but getting people to follow the candidates, become informed of the issues and their stands, and then voting.
The current turnout at elections now is dismal. I would rather see effort put into involving young people in school to create a new generation of voters who participate in the electoral process.
