I wish to address a matter of urgent importance to all American travelers. I believe that to a large degree, much of the traveling and vacationing public in the U.S. consists of a husband and wife. A husband and wife, each of whom has a checked bag. So they check into a hotel, and the hotel room has only one luggage rack. (You know, the fold-up rack with canvas bands that unfolds to accept one piece of luggage). Now why is that? Shouldn’t each hotel room be equipped with at least two luggage racks? And why is it, that if you call down and request another stand that the front desk reacts as though you’re a pervert, or at least someone who is clearly over-demanding, and deserves a “Why are you making this strange and unusual request” type of response.
I think red-blooded Americans should unite and demand their rights. We could form a new organization: We could call it the “Luggage Racks for All” or the LRA. We could boycott particular hotels to make an example of them. And we could lobby Congress. It would have a better chance of passing than a health care bill.
Travelers, unite!
