Sen. Lisa Murkowski showed real character in resisting the most recent Trumpcare bill.
I agree with her that a major rewrite of our health care system should not be done without giving the American people the opportunity to see the proposal and weigh in. A bill crafted in secret, and hastily written on the back of a cocktail napkin is not the right way to do this.
As much as folks across the spectrum have issues with the Affordable Care Act, let’s follow the old dictum “measure twice, cut once.” Sen. Murkowski stood on principle instead of party. The reason we are doing this through an open process is because of the courageous stand of Sens. Susan Collins, John McCain and Murkowski.
Well done, senators! You make me proud.
