U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski did the right thing when she voted recently to protect net neutrality; it is unfortunate U.S. Sen. Dan Sullivan did not. Internet discrimination — against small businesses, or by charging higher fees to certain consumers and small businesses — would be devastating for our economy. The only way to protect a fair and open internet is with net neutrality, which ensures that both Alaska consumers and small businesses can obtain information and compete without being discriminated against by large corporations.
