I would like to express my support for Don Etheridge for the District Q Senate Seat.
Etheridge came from a hard-working blue collar family and I will share a story with you. Juneau had a small saw mill at the time called, Columbia Lumber Co., located about where Taku Smokeries is now. I needed a job and was hired to fill in for a man with a medical problem. I was placed down on the log pond with Etheridge’s father, he looked at my shoes and smiled and said, “Son, you will get awfully wet without Cork Boots.” I said I didn’t have any, so he loaned me a used pair and I still got but not every day.
I know that Etheridge, just like his father will reach out and help people here in Juneau, but it will be on a much larger scale.
Etheridge’s opponent voted to give away $450 million dollars designated for better access to Juneau. I am sure that Etheridge will work hard to return this money to Juneau and create good paying jobs that are needed.
I, for one, am voting for Etheridge.
