Opinion: I’m voting for Al Gross, here’s why you should, too

The people of Alaska need a senator who represents the values of Alaskans.

The people of Alaska need a senator who represents the values of Alaskans. As a physician, Dr. Al Gross knows how to listen to people and to put science above politics. He is an independent and will place the interests of the people of Alaska and the Country above political parties and international corporations. He will not be silent in the face of immoral behavior regardless of party.

In stark contrast, Dan Sullivan represents the international corporations operating in Alaska. He has consistently lined up behind Mitch McConnell to suppress voting rights, undermine health care and placed party above country. Sen. Dan Sullivan does not object to a president who:

• Has no problem with Russia providing bounties to Taliban terrorists for killing US soldiers;

• Issues pardons to war criminals convicted in US military courts;

• Diverts millions of dollars to improve living quarters for US military personnel in Alaska military bases to construct a useless wall on the Mexican border.

• And who reportedly refers to veterans and those who died defending this country as “suckers” and “losers.”

As a veteran, I find this offensive. As your senator, Dr. Al Gross will not be silent.

Dr. Al Gross is an independent with roots in Alaska. Furthermore, he has a well-defined plan of action to address the serious issues that face Alaska and the country. These are a few of the reasons that I strongly support Dr. Al Gross for the U.S. Senate in 2020.
