We will continue to have gun massacres until we have reasonable gun restrictions. Most citizens are in favor of universal background checks, red flag laws, and a ban on automatic assault weapons. Despite that, our GOP elected officials refuse to pass sane gun laws. They are not representing the will of the people, but instead are representing the will of the gun lobby, i.e. the National Rifle Association and gun manufacturers.
Senator Murkowski has an “A” rating from the NRA, and Senator Sullivan has an “A+.” According to the New York Times on May 26, 2022, “the vast majority of Republicans have opposed gun safety legislation for years, banding together to block its consideration or refusing to bring it up.”
It is time to stop the carnage. We citizens, we voters, can stop it. Only vote for those who will enact responsible gun laws. It is up to us.
