Opinion: Stranded in Ketchikan

I was one of the passengers stranded in Ketchikan by the strike. We were given no information or help by Alaska Department of Transportation. The Alaska Marine Highway System workers tried to help, but had very little information as well. I’m still not certain that I actually received a refund from AMHS. I had to place my vehicle on a cargo barge and fly to Seattle where I am having to wait a total of nine days to retrieve my vehicle. Also, Alaska Airlines offered no discounts and actually charged us double to triple what another airline was charging. I feel sorry for the AMHS workers and all Alaskans whose lives are being ruined by your corrupt bully of a governor and your corrupt state legislature. I may never return to Alaska as a result of the corruption and gross mismanagement endemic to your state.
