Opinion: When you don’t know, vote no!

Confusing the voters through the design of ballot measures is not open and transparent government.

We have reviewed the propositions on the Oct. 1 municipal ballot. There are three propositions that are related to each other and at least eight possible outcomes depending on which one passes and which one fails. The worst outcome is Proposition 3 passes and the others fail. This would mean that the new JACC would get the money we voters ear marked for repairs to Centennial Hall, and Centennial Hall would end up with no funding for needed repairs.

The fact that there are so many possible outcomes shows what a poor job the Assembly did in putting this ballot together. Confusing the voters through the design of ballot measures is not open and transparent government. Because this is so confusing with potential disastrous unintended results, we will vote no on all the propositions.

When you don’t know, vote no!
