While it seems like Washington has been in the midst of a furious health care debate for years, the stakes have never been higher for Alaska. We look to the U.S. Senate and Sen. Lisa Murkowski as our only hope for protecting Alaskans and our access to quality, affordable health care. We must act now to check the staggering rise of our premiums and maintain insurance choice.
Sen. Dan Sullivan has made it clear that he is more interested in pleasing hard-liners and special interest groups than defending real Alaskans. This means we need Murkowski to be our champion in the Senate. From the constant attempts to defund Planned Parenthood, slashing Medicaid and rolling back critical consumer protections, the attacks on Alaskans are very real. We must stand up and tell Murkowski we need her now more than ever. We need her to put Alaskans first.
