The purpose of this letter is to encourage Sealaska Shareholders to support independent candidate Karen Taug for election to the board of directors. We are doing so for four reasons:
First, Karen is experienced with corporate board roles, having served both as director and Chairman of the Board of Goldbelt, Inc., the urban corporation for Juneau.
Second, she brings a wealth of expertise in the finance arena. This is evidenced by her current service to the administration for Bartlett Regional Hospital where she serves as corporate controller.
Third, she cares deeply about preservation of Tlingit culture and education initiatives that impact many lives. At the present time she volunteers for her role as the president of the Goldbelt Heritage Foundation.
Of the independent candidates, Karen has the best skillset to contribute to the company’s improved financial performance.
