Where’s my money leftover from The Road?

Hey, Alaska Senate! Where’s my $38 million? The governor reprogrammed $38 million from the dead-end Juneau Access Road project to cover other transportation infrastructure needs and capital projects in Southeast, but it seems you re-reprogrammed it to sit in a bank account instead of doing something with it.

So how come Southeast Alaska doesn’t have other projects in your capital budget that utilize this money?

Sen. Dennis Egan, can you knock some heads together up there and get some action? We have the construction industry crying in their beer for projects now that the governor decided no-go on The Road, but the state Senate doesn’t want to do anything with the leftover money because they don’t want the governor to get the credit, is that it? I know from a December 2016 news article that you were concerned that other legislators might try to get their hands on this money, so now’s your chance to get it into Southeast.
