I have a brand new grandson. That means that I have one more person to love. That also means that the risk of losing someone I love to a mass shooting just went up. With every addition to my circle of family and friends, the risk increases for me to suffer unimaginable anguish. That goes for every single American. Who in our beautiful country will be next?
By allowing people to possess actual instruments of war like assault weapons and high capacity magazines, we are allowing mass murders to take place again and again and again.
I call upon U.S. Sens. Lisa Murkowski and Dan Sullivan and U.S. Rep. Don Young of Alaska to listen to us, their constituents, and to enact laws that will put an end to this madness so that none of us will ever have to worry again about the loss of someone we love in a mass shooting.
