Karen Bradford, a 25-year veteran of the National Park Service, has been selected as the acting superintendent of Katmai National Park and Preserve. Bradford has served in the Southeast, Intermountain and Midwest Regions of the National Park Service.
In a statement from the National Park Service, Bradford says she will strive for a smooth transition until the permanent superintendent is selected. She will arrive in Katmai in early July.
She takes over for Diane Chung, Katmai’s superintendent since early 2013. Chung is taking a position with the U.S. Forest Service in Oregon.
