The Alaska State Museum is accepting applications for solo exhibitions by individual Alaska artists. The program is open to all resident visual artists who have not had a solo exhibition at the Alaska State Museum within the past six years. The deadline for receipt of the completed application is Aug. 26.
Artists may work in any media. The completed application must contain 10 digital images of the type of work proposed and up to five video files, as well as a written description and resume. Artists are encouraged to develop new works for this opportunity.
Approximately six artists will be selected by a committee compised of museum staff and art professionals and the solo exhibitions will be scheduled starting in 2017.
Selected artists will be announced Sept. 12.
