Aiding Women in Abuse and Rape Emergencies, Inc. is an organization run by love, and in no way is that more obvious than with the countless hours that our volunteers put in. We, at AWARE, would like to extend an extra thank you to the students at CRU; they came to AWARE weekly during our building refurbishing to help with painting, moving, cleaning, heavy lifting and more. Without their help, we would not have been able to get back into our offices and rooms as smoothly and quickly as we did. They did their work with a constant smile and willing attitude. CRU will be leaving town this week, and we know that no matter where they go, the goodness they have shown to this organization will forever be remembered by the women, children and employees here.
As Maya Angelou said, “When you volunteer, you are not paid in money or recognition, you are paid in love. People may forget what you said, and people may forget what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel.”
Thank you CRU from the bottom of our hearts. We hope that you will receive always, what you have given this summer: unconditional love, prayers and support. Thank you for sharing your generosity and spirit with Juneau and AWARE.
