Barrett, Shalek wed

Dr. Kristen Barrett wed Andrew Shalek on Sept. 16, 2015, at the Wynn Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The bride is the daughter of Cathy (deceased) and Paul Barrett of Juneau.

The groom is the son of Connie and Ian Shalek of Tucson, Arizona.

Kristen graduated from Juneau-Douglas High School in 2003 and later attended the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. She is currently employed at the University of Arizona Banner Medical Center as a gastroenterology fellow.

The groom graduated from Green Fields in Tucson, Arizona, in 2001. He is currently a flight paramedic and is working toward his physician assistant degree.
