The 27th annual Fahrenkamp/Kelly Legislative Putting Tournament once again transformed the halls of Alaska’s State Capitol into a putting green. This charitable event held on Thursday, March 10 and Saturday, March 12. It included a reception on March 10 hosted by Holland America Lines and the extraordinary staff of the Westmark Baranof Hotel. During the event putting teams and dinner with the Governor and Lt. Governor were auctioned to an enthusiastic audience.
On Saturday, March 12, the putting tournament took place in the halls of the Capitol. Fifty teams of three golfers each took their best shots on a challenging course brilliantly crafted by James Armstrong, who delights us every year with a new masterpiece. Thanks to the generosity and sponsorship of legislators, staff, supporters and business community, Bartlett Regional Hospital Foundation and Armed Services YMCA of Alaska raised over $28,000 for programs and projects supporting Juneau’s community hospital and military members and their families throughout Alaska. An awards ceremony was held immediately following the putting tournament at the Hangar Ballroom, sponsored by PhRMA. Bragging rights this year go to:
Team: Hillcorp1, Pat Carter, Lori Nelson and Speaker Mike Chenault.
Women’s Category: Pam Varni.
Men’s Category: Speaker Mike Chenault.
Bartlett Foundation Board of Trustees and staff and ASYMCA staff want to thank the many volunteers who helped with the event — legislative staff, Coast Guard volunteers, First Student volunteers and community volunteers — we couldn’t have done it without your help! Thanks, as well to the golfers and team sponsors who participated and provided endless entertainment throughout the day! Special thanks to corporate sponsors: Alaska Airlines, AT&T, Holland America Lines, PhRMA and Premera. We sincerely appreciate all of the generosity shown to Bartlett Regional Hospital Foundation and to the Armed Services YMCA of Alaska and are grateful for your support!
