The U.S. Forest Service has funded a contract issued by Southeast Conference through its partner, the Alaska Energy Authority, to the Cold Climate Housing Research Center to develop a handbook for biomass-heated greenhouses in Alaska.
This handbook will be designed to help communities plan, build and manage a biomass-heated greenhouse that will provide hands-on opportunities to use science and technical education to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs while providing nutritious, fresh vegetables year-round, which can often be lacking in Alaska.
The Biomass-Heated Greenhouse Handbook will be available in the spring of 2017 at akenergyauthority.org.
