The Juneau Family Health and Birth Center has collaborated with SALT Alaska for its annual fundraising dinner for three years, but this year’s event features for the first time a dish that earned national recognition.
All proceeds from the dinner, which takes place Thursday, Sept. 28 from 6-9 p.m., will go to the Birth Center. The dinner costs $100 per plate, and one of the options on the menu is Executive Chef Lionel Uddipa’s king crab risotto, which earned him first place in the Great American Seafood Cookoff in August.
The other entrée options are vegetable wellington (not usually on SALT’s menu) and ribeye steak. Those interested in attending are asked to buy their tickets in advance to ensure they have a spot. They can buy tickets at juneaubirthcenter.org or by calling 586-1203.
The event will also include a silent auction, a live dessert auction and jazz music from Robert Cohen. Two Birth Center board members will also be honored during a short program.
