Buddhist Lama Khentrul Lodr&

The first week in February, Tibetan Buddhist Lama Khentrul Lodrö Thayé Rinpoche will be in Juneau to offer Buddhist teachings and a look into his spiritual journey.

Rinpoche will give two full days of presentations, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both Saturday, Feb. 3 and Sunday, Feb. 4. The events will take place in the Glacier Room of the Aspen Suites Hotel.

The first day will feature a presentation called “Bringing Suffering and Happiness onto the Path, Part III,” which will address ways to deal with adversity and deal with the challenges of today. He will review Parts 1 and II for those attending.

The second day is only open to those who attended the first day, and will feature what is called a Green Tara initiation. Rinpoche will teach attendees about the female Buddha Tara and Tara practice, which is a powerful visualization meditation.

There is a suggested donation of between $55 and $75 for Saturday only and between $110 and $150 for the entire weekend. Nobody will be turned away if they don’t have the money.
