The Juneau Arts and Humanities Council calls for artists to submit a graphic of their own creation to be used as the first-ever design on the side(s) of a reusable canvas tote bag, sold at both the downtown and valley Foodland IGA locations.
The art should have recognizable Juneau/Southeast Alaskan themes. Images may be in full color. Images must be submitted to the council in PDF format, however the printing company may require additional formats.
Artists will retain full copyright of their images and may sell the original art and prints as desired, but must give reproduction permission to Myers Group (Foodland IGA). The winning artist will receive $0.125 per bag sold. The initial printing run by Meyer’s Group (Foodland IGA) will be 5000 bags.
A selection committee of a JAHC representative, Myers Group representative and community member will vote on the designs. Notification of the winner will take place within 1 week after the deadline for entries, which is April 1.
