A Capital City Fire/Rescue captain recently joined an elite group of credentialed firefighters.
CCFR announced last week that the Commission on Professional Credentialing officially awarded Fire Captain and paramedic Todd Cameron the professional designation of “fire officer,” a title held by only about 300 people in the world.
Before dubbing Cameron a fire officer, the CPC reviewed his education experience, contributions to the profession and community service among other things, according to Fire Marshal Dan Jager. The Fire Officer Designation Program is peer-reviewed.
Jager said that Cameron is currently the only CPC designated fire officer in Alaska.
Cameron has worked with Capital City Fire/Rescue for more than 15 years.
