The Greater Juneau Chamber of Commerce is looking for nominations for the annual Citizen of the Year and Lifetime Achievement awards.

The Citizen of the Year award, which has been given out each year since 1977, honors Juneau residents for outstanding service to the community. Nomination forms are available at www.juneauchamber.com and are due Sept. 14. To find the nomination page, go to the top right of the front page, click the three horizontal bars to open the dropdown menu and click “Citizen of the Year.”

To be eligible for the award, a person must be a Juneau resident and must not be currently campaigning for political office. The nominee can be a person, a couple or even a group. The award is given to a nominee for outstanding community service beyond normal course of work.

The Lifetime Achievement award is given to someone who has demonstrated 10 or more years of outstanding community service, and may be given posthumously.

A nomination committee evaluates the nominees and the winners will be announced at the Chamber’s annual dinner on Saturday, Oct. 13.
