Alaskan Dames is hosting a Dames in Defense workshop series during the month of August at their Airport Shopping Center location.
On Friday, Aug. 12 at 4 p.m., will be Women’s Self Defense with Complete Warrior instructor Harmony Armstrong. Participants will learn how to protect themselves with this Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu based program. Includes physical techniques as well as psychological and verbal skills. $5 fee.
On Friday, Aug. 19 at 4:30 p.m., will be Combating Theft with Officer Ken Colon. Participants will earn the ins and outs of loss prevention and what to do when their business has been targeted for theft.
On Friday, Aug. 26 at 4:30 p.m., will be Damsel in Defense with Sue York. Damsel in Defense instructs participants on the use of personal self-defense products, such as stun guns and pepper spray.
