Eaglecrest announces 2015-16 HIlary Lindh Scholarship recipients

Eaglecrest Ski Area announced on Dec. 18 the 2015-16 Hilary Lindh Scholarship recipients.

The selection committee judged applicants based on three main criteria: scholastic achievement, competitive spirit and financial assistance. Any student who applied and met all judging criteria will receive a complimentary Eaglecrest lift ticket, lesson and equipment rental package.

Of the four divisions – Boys/Girls Kindergarten through Fifth Grade and Boys/Girls Sixth through 12th Grade – the winners are: Cerys Hudson, Jaxson White, Anya McLaughlin. and Sahil Bathija.

“We were looking for good kids with a competitive spirit reflecting Hilary Lindh’s commitment to ski racing,” says Jeffra Clough, Eaglecrest’s marketing/sales and snowsports school director. “Congratulations to the winners and thank you to everyone that applied.”

The Hilary Lindh Scholarship Competition was established in 1992 in recognition of Lindh’s Silver Medal in the 1992 Winter Olympics At a young age she started skiing at Eaglecrest and began dedicating years of hard work to downhill ski racing. Lindh was inducted into the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame in April 2006 and the Alaska Sports Hall of Fame in February 2009.
