The Cooperative Extension Service in Juneau will host a Dec. 12 workshop on pickling and fermenting as part of its Saturdays with Extension series.
Sarah Lewis will lead the free workshop from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Mendenhall Valley Library. Participants will learn the basics of lacto-fermentation and vinegar pickling of vegetables for tasty homemade snacks and digestive health.
The workshop is open to the public and will also be broadcast through the Online with Libraries program in Ketchikan, Coffman Cove and Craig. Other interested libraries may sign up through the OWL program.
