Family Promise Juneau has hired an executive director, Joann Flora.
Flora has a wide range of experience with nonprofits. She was a 20-year volunteer at a public radio station in Ketchikan, plus a two-term board member, a Rotarian, Big Sister and the community director for Big Brothers Big Sisters in Ketchikan.
The regional coordinator for Family Promise will train the local affiliate in February and hosting will begin sometime in March.
Family Promise first got started in Juneau in September 2014 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church. It’s a model for using underutilized resources in a safe way to walk with families who are experiencing homelessness.
