The second Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center Fireside Lecture of the season features U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Biologist Michelle Kissling discussing Kittlitz’s Murrelets. The birds are rare, stocky seabirds endemic to Russia and Alaska. Kissling will discuss the birds and their association with ice.
All Fireside Lectures are free and open to the public. The first lecture begins at 6:30 p.m.; the second at 8 p.m. Come early to get seats in the main room. The first lecture is generally more crowded than the second.
