Fundraiser for Eagle River Scout Camp comes close to two grand

The partnership between the Great Alaska Council and the Southeast Alaska Building Industry Association, along with Mendenhall Auto Center, fundraised for the Eagle River Scout Camp, raising close to $2,000 during Home & Outdoor Living Expo.

In 2015, SEABIA and Cub Scouts partnered to host the first public Pinewood Derby at the Home and Outdoor Living Expo at Centennial Hall, which provided the chance for business and community members to create and race a car. Another derby was held this year, raising $165.

In addition, this year SEBIA and Mendenhall Auto Center hosted a Down and Derby beer and wine tasting event for adults, featuring handcrafted derby cars up for auction. This raised $1,605.

An auction was held on a pallet cooler silent auction donated by Daniel Earls, which raised $200.

A grand total of $1,970 was raised for the Scouts.
