Glacier Bay National Park now has its own app. The program, called “Glacier Bay National Park Chimani,” runs on iPhone and Android devices, and allows users to navigate using a GPS-enabled map of the park and to find their way around without a cellular connection.
The free app also helps users stay up to date on park weather, ranger events, sunrise and sunset times, tides, lodging and points of interest related to Glacier Bay.
“The apps really help visitors explore and tour each park and gives them a better experience and appreciation for the park,” said Tom Williamson, co-owner of Ortega National Parks, which partnered with Chimani to create the app.
The Glacier Bay app is one of 59 apps Ortega and Chimani created in partnership with the National Parks Service.
