Juneau’s Imagination Station, a local toy store, will participate in Neighborhood Toy Store Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 14.
Imagination Station will feature a variety of family-friendly activities, including crafts, a building center and a laser maze challenge.
According to the American Specialty Toy Retailing Association, the goal of Neighborhood Toy Store Day is to introduce consumers to the benefits of shopping local.
“Local toy stores focus on providing unique selections and the kind of quality not always found at national chains,” Kimberly Mosley, president of ASTAR, said. “Many of the toys you see at independently-owned toy stores are not advertised on television and are mostly made by small manufacturers. National Toy Store Day is a great opportunity for families to check out some great gift-giving ideas for the holidays.”
