The Juneau Snowmobile Club will be conducting helicopter sling load operations to transport gravel to a 115-foot section of Dan Moller Trail, just above the Treadwell Ditch Trail. Gravel bags will be picked up from the trailhead parking lot at the end of Jackson Road at the top of the Blueberry Hill subdivision.
Operations will begin at 10 a.m. and continue for an hour to an hour and a half on today, Nov. 11 (weather dependent). Expect delays while attempting to pass the junction of the Dan Moller Trail and Treadwell Ditch Trail. People will be posted at points on the trail to keep trail users from being under the helicopter.
The gravel is being used to harden a muddy section of trail after drainage structures have been installed.
