Explore Juneau’s downtown public art collection with the Juneau Arts & Humanities Council, which is offering guided tours this summer, led by local artists. Learn the history and stories related to the many pieces in the downtown area and visit local artists’ studios.
The guided art walks will be offered on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays at 1 p.m. beginning with Sunday, May 15 through Wednesday September 14. The walks start at the JCVB Visitor Kiosk and can be tailored to fit the interests of the walkers, ending at the Juneau Arts and Culture Center for a cup of Heritage coffee and treats.
Tickets for the tours are $20 per person. The walks are suggested for ages 10 and older with parents or guardians along for the under age walkers.
For a more do it yourself approach, the map is available in hardcopy at the JACC, or online at https://juneauarts.wordpress.com/art-walk-map/.
Juneau’s art collection is amazing, and locals and visitors alike will discover much about our little town through this walk.
