JAMM thanks Wells Fargo for donation

Karen West, vice president of Wells Fargo, visited Glacier Valley’s third grade JAMM orchestra to present a check of $2,500 to support JAMM’s Quartet-in-Residence program. This new initiative is a partnership with Juneau Alaska Music Matters, the Juneau Symphony, Juneau School District and the University of Alaska Southeast to bring skilled string musicians to Juneau to help teach nearly 200 students in JAMM’s afterschool programs at Auke Bay, Glacier Valley and Riverbend Elementary Schools.

While pursuing a secondary education master of arts in teaching with a K-12 music certificate at UAS, the string quartet conducts its student teaching hours with JAMM and other school music programs throughout the district. They also perform in the Juneau Symphony. To learn more about the program and the quartet, please visit http://www.juneaumusicmatters.com.

Thank you, Wells Fargo, for your support and investment in Juneau’s children.
